HAMDEN, CT, August 19, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Thomas Madera, Lieutenant of the Eastern Connecticut State University Police Department and Owner of InteleTravel, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in law enforcement and travel services.

With nearly 20 years of professional experience, Mr. Madera followed up on a lifelong dream to enter law enforcement. Starting out as a concert security guard, he worked hard and joined the force at the Eastern Connecticut State University Police Department. His primarily role is acting as the operations commander, which includes running the patrol division, overseeing the detective bureau, and managing three sergeants and 18 officers. He also uses his expertise as a certified police mountain bike instructor to train others as certified police cyclists. In addition to excelling in his police work, Mr. Madera is an Independant Travel Agent for InteleTravel, where he arranges travel for clients; the services he offers encompass everything from rental car arrangements to full-fledged, all-inclusive vacations.

Recently, Mr. Madera graduated magna cum laude from Albertus Magnus College with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. He is a member of the Beta Mu Sigma Fraternity, Alpha Phi Sigma and FBI National Academy Associates, Inc. He has been honored with a distinguished alumni award, as well as an Unsung Hero Award from the Special Olympics.
