The eighth Penang Island Jazz Festival is taking place in Batu Ferringhi between December 1st and 4th this year.

Taking place for the eighth year, the event was originally dreamt up back in 1996 and has grown steadily since its eventual introduction in 2004, with a diverse audience of music enthusiasts from across the region to be attracted this year.
 
Top jazz artists from around the world will be treating crowds to performances spanning one main stage, five fringe stages and a sunset stage, with a number of supporting activities also planned.
 
Central to the experience will be Jazz by the Beach, an outdoor concert featuring local and international performances, which is being held across the last two days of the festival.
 
Acts lined up to perform include the likes of Shakatak, Ulf & Eric Wakenius, Yuri Honing Wired Paradise, Nina Van Horn and Rusconi.
 
Tickets to Jazz by the Beach cost 63 ringgits (GBP12.60) for each night, including a booking fee of three ringgits.
