Glasgow's Barrowland will welcome The Kooks on September 30th as they tour in support of new album Junk of the Heart.

GLASGOW, SCOTLAND, August 30, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Kooks will perform live at Glasgow's famous Barrowland venue next month.

With new album Junk of the Heart scheduled to hit stores on September 12th, the four-piece indie act have lined up an extensive string of tour dates across Europe and North America.

Their show in the Scottish city on Friday September 30th will be one of the first opportunities for fans to see the band on stage following the LP's release.

Preceded by new single Is It Me on September 4th, Junk of the Heart is the group's third studio album and their first full-length release since Konk in 2008.

Formed in Brighton, The Kooks enjoyed major success with their debut album Inside In/Inside Out.

The 2006 record spawned the top ten singles Naive and She Moves in Her Own Way, as well as establishing the band as one of the brightest new acts in British guitar music.

Fans will no doubt be hoping to hear classic songs from the back catalogue, as well as new material, when The Kooks arrive in Glasgow.
