LateRooms.com - Bram Stoker's Dracula to be Performed on Stage in Seville
A stage production of Bram Stoker's Dracula will be performed in Seville in September.
SEVILLE, SPAIN, August 03, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Seville's Teatro Lope de Vega will stage a theatrical production of Bram Stoker's Dracula as the first show following its summer break.
Running from September 22nd to 25th, the performance is directed by Eduardo Bazo and Jorge de Juan from a translation of the story by Pilar Lerma.
Starring in the show will be Ramon Langa, Emilio Gutierrez and Maria Ruiz among others.
Dracula, first published as a novel in 1897, is perhaps the most iconic vampire tale, particularly due to the number of times it has been adapted for stage and screen.
Cinematic portrayals include FW Murnau's Nosferatu from 1932 and 1992's Dracula, which was directed and produced by Francis Ford Coppola and starred Gary Oldman in the title role.
When writing the novel, Stoker based Dracula's character on the Shakespearean actor Sir Henry Irving, due to his dramatic presence and gentlemanly mannerisms.
Admission to the Seville production costs EUR21 (GBP18.35). It begins at 20:30 local time on weekdays, 19:00 and 22:00 on Saturday and 19:30 on Sunday.
LateRooms.com features a generous selection of accommodation in Seville that may appeal to theatre-goers, including the Hotel Don Paco Seville.
